Emptiness

This is a filler entry.

Yes, this tends to happen at the end of the month, when I realize I haven't written four entries yet and I have to punch a pointless one out to hit a quota only I care about. But this time around, I don't really need to write this. I have already hit the quota.

But I am writing it anyway, for this isn't a thought that needs a long gestation period to expand and elaborate on. It's pointless, as is most of the things - if not everything - I write on here, but this particular thought amuses me, so here it goes.

The past few days, I've been getting a lot of spam comments on the blog. Surprising, partially, since this isn't an abandoned blog. Unsurprising, partially, since this isn't an active one, in the sense that there's little interaction, meaning it might as well be abandoned. All right, I know times have changed and blogs aren't the titans of the Internet that they used to be, but you know, it still has some legs, if not fumes. And again, this is my personal blog, meaning it's not here to do anything other than be an outlet for my thoughts, which, again, are pointless, if not possibly jeopardizing any chance of career advancement.

But yeah, I've been getting a lot of spam comments on the blog. Interestingly, they're not posted on the really old entries. I have almost seventeen years' worth, so it's easy to pick one and hope I don't notice it, meaning it stays around and does some wonders to whichever site's search engine rankings. No, they're posted on the newer stuff, which means I'll really see it, apart from the email notifications, because nobody really posts comments here, so any time I see "1 comment" on my page I will definitely notice. I told you, this blog exudes emptiness.

Anyway, those spam comments. They're for what seems to be a Korean online casino. I haven't really clicked, not that I would. It's just that there are hangul characters on the comments, and the word - let me check my spam queue - the words "poker" and "bet" and "slot machine". I can infer as much.

They stumbled upon this blog and decided to square all their SEO efforts on this one. Maybe I'm writing this to tell them that I'm on to them? What does that do? This is just a blog. It's not a well-produced video. Who reads these things anyway? Nobody cares.

And your responses...
